How to Use the FlowFlex Antigen Home Test
When you purchase the Flowflex antigen rapid test lateral flow self-testing kit 5 tests, you will find the following wrapped contents:
- 5x individually filled extraction buffer/prefilled buffer
- 5x COVID-19 Test Lit Cassette
- 5x waste bag
- 5x nasal sterile swabs
- Product insert
The Flowflex Antigen Home Test aims to detect the SARS-CoV-2 antigens in the nose's interior. This is done around seven days from when the symptoms begin for infected people or when you suspect that you have a COVID-19 infection.
The overview of the test procedure is pretty straightforward. It involves the following: First, remove the aluminium foil from the top of the extraction buffer. Do this carefully to avoid spilling. The next step is inserting the tube in the hole in the kit box. You could also place it in the tube holder. Next, carefully open the swab packaging from the stick end, and keep clear of the absorbent tip. Insert it slowly from the absorbent end into the nostril, and push it at least 2.5 cm from the nostril's edge.
Rotate it five times as you brush against the inside. Then, remove it and repeat what you have just done to the other nostril. After that, remove it and insert it into the tube. You will then swirl it for about 30 seconds.
When you remove the swab, squeeze the tube, this should be followed by attaching the dropper firmly to the extraction buffer tube. You should ensure you mix it thoroughly. This might involve flicking the bottom of the tube or swirling. After this, you will gently squeeze the tube and release about four drops of the solution into the specimen well. Wait for 15 minutes and read the results. The time window for reading the results is between 15 and 30 minutes. You should not read the results beyond 30 minutes.
Even though this is the overall procedure of how it goes down, you should always check the package insert and read the instructions carefully. This is because there are much more detailed instructions in the packaging. This is very important, as not sticking to the correct procedure may result in inaccurate results.
When reading the results, the following is how you interpret them correctly. The results are considered negative if the control line (C-line) appears minus the test line(T-line). In this case, it means no COVID-19 antigen was discovered. However, if there is a line in both the control line (C-line) and the test line (T-line), then the COVID-19 virus was detected. Sometimes the line can be faint. However, this doesn't change the outcome. The result still counts as positive, in which case you should immediately contact your doctor or get to your local health department and seek aid from medical professionals.
